After a weekend in the woods and multiple ice freezing attempts, this earthen pedestal emerged. The stump hails from my grandpa's woods, which is significant to mark a sacred relationship to earth and my grandpa. This pedestal acknowledges death, pain, and suffering and sheds light on the cycle of life. There is unity in the use of materials and it comments on the superfluous need for pedestals in nature. It has a ritualistic element as well, which is inviting and calming.
